The Lakeland Youth Chorale (LYC) is a select mixed choral ensemble of children grades 3-10.  The LYC is designed to provide a rich and rewarding musical experience for each child.  The children will have the opportunity to study and perform a variety of musical literature, both sacred and secular.  Concepts about music and musicals skills are taught through singing , moving, listening, and analysis.  Within the LYC are three groups, Piccolo Singers, Vivace Singers, and Inner Voices, in which the members will be placed based on vocal abilities, age, and experience.  Goals of the chorale are:
  • To introduce children to the musical traditions of other cultures
  • To foster the personal and social growth of choir members
  • To strive for excellence in choral performance
  • To enrich the quality of music in the community through additional vocal instruction

The Bryon Berry Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2012 in memory of Bryon Berry, a long time Board Member and local attorney.  Bryon was a lover of all kinds of music and was very passionate in his support of the community choirs.

As a memorial to Bryon Berry, Classic Arts Programs has established the scholarship fund to help children who desire to grow as singers in a community vocal ensemble.  Submit scholarship requests to jmeulink@comcast.net
